What We Are Doing

For years BlueStar has made great strides to lessen our impact on the environment. We employ comprehensive recycling and energy efficiency programs at our facility and fuel our fleet of service vehicles with biodiesel, earning us the distinction of being a certified ‘green’ business from the Santa Clara County Green Council.  

At BlueStar, we pride ourselves on the diverse selection of eco-friendly products and organically produced beverages & snacks we offer to our customers.  Moreover, many of the products we provide either come in bulk or have eco-friendly packaging, saving our customers money and reducing waste.

Our Green Programs

BlueStar is consistently looking for new and innovative beverage and food service programs that benefit the environment and our customers’ bottom line. We work with companies big and small to develop a ‘green strategy’ that will enable them to enjoy great products, save money, and promote environmental stewardship.

For example, we’ve helped many companies reduce energy costs through the implementation of our VendingMiser ® program which reduces the power consumption of cold beverage vending machines by an average of 35-45% — generating the same energy savings as a new ENERGY STAR rated machine. This new technology also lowers operating costs and greenhouse gas emissions.

VendingMiser®:

• Powers down the machine when user traffic is reduced
• Monitors the room’s temperature to consume the least amount of energy necessary
• Automatically re-powers the cooling system at one to three hour intervals to ensure the product stays cold
